Finishing 310B: two certificates, different steps.
Originally published
Looking ahead to Ontario 310B? Knowing what each certificate means can help you ask clearer questions about your training.
First: apprenticeship completion
A Certificate of Apprenticeship confirms that all apprenticeship requirements are complete. That includes workplace and classroom training. Keep your records current, review them with your sponsor and follow Skilled Trades Ontario’s completion process.
Next: the trade qualification
310B has a certifying exam. Skilled Trades Ontario issues the Certificate of Qualification after you pass it. Finishing your apprenticeship does not mean you have already passed this exam.
Ask one useful question
Ask your sponsor or Skilled Trades Ontario: which requirements and records still need to be completed in my case? Confirm your own next step before making plans.
Alex’s fictional story uses AI animation and synthetic voices to introduce the pathway. It does not promise admission, employment or certification.
