Show what you have learned
Keep records of your work, hours, training and people who can verify your experience. Skilled Trades Ontario’s Trade Equivalency Assessment checks whether experienced workers without an Ontario apprenticeship have equivalent skills and experience and may challenge the certifying exam.
Ask before assuming
Experience alone does not guarantee assessment approval or a 310B certificate. If you already hold a corresponding Canadian trade certificate, ask about the separate certificate-recognition process.
