310B: small fasteners deserve attention.
Originally published
A tray of small parts may look less interesting than a freshly painted panel. Yet it can spark a good question about Ontario’s 310B collision-repair trade: how does the team know which fastener belongs where?
Notice the small details
The 310B curriculum covers fastener identification, tightening specifications and single-use items within trim and hardware learning. It also addresses manufacturers’ procedures. These are subjects for supervised training; this article is not an installation guide.
Bring one practical question
On an arranged, supervised shop visit, ask your host: “How do you check which fastening method this part needs?” Listen for the information behind the decision. Leave parts and tools where they are, and follow the visitor instructions.
Recognize an interest in careful work
Enjoying detail, organization and asking questions can be a starting point for exploring a trade. Tell a teacher or guidance counsellor what caught your attention. Jordan’s fictional shop visit offers another conversation starter. A visit does not register an apprenticeship or establish training credit.
